Teresa and the Interns

At Spirit and Matter, massage students can receive extra training to be successful private practitioners once they graduate. This involves building confidence with clients, refinement of massage skills, learning everyday business and accounting skills, and cultivating a schedule that allows proper self-care for longevity in their new career. The students are guided by Teresa and visits each session for a few minutes to answer questions or offer suggestions to the students.

Maiah Young

My name is Maiah Arzae. As a massage therapist, I love blending integrative massage techniques that customizes a treatment that is completely unique to each client. I have always been fascinated by biology and the human body, and in my practice I enjoy combining both the science and intuition within my approach to healing through touch. My goal is to help each person feel more balanced, relaxed, and feel connected within their body.

Kaitlyn Morse

The journey of learning massage therapy has been deeply transformational, and I’m eager to continue growing and applying what I’ve learned to support others in their well-being. My approach blends intuitive touch with trigger point therapy to ease pain, release tension, and invite the body into a state of relaxation. Outside of school and work, I love spending time in nature, expressing my creativity, and connecting with loved ones.

Teresa Schmidt

From a young age, Teresa wanted to help people heal but not in the traditional Western medicine model. With 20 years as a massage therapist and body worker, every massage is tailored for your needs.

Her passion for learning has lead her to study many different massage modalities, completing degrees as an herbalist and Ayurvedic consultant, and a large book queue. She enjoys being outside, archery, playing violin, riding bikes, and traveling to other countries.
